2024-2025 Documentary Heritage Program Grant
Opens Feb 9 2024 09:00 AM (EST)
Deadline Apr 2 2024 05:00 PM (EDT)
Description

Application Deadline: April 2, 2024

Welcome to the online application portal for the New York State Archives Documentary Heritage Grants Program. Documentary Heritage Program (DHP) grants are designed to build a more comprehensive and equitable documentation of New York State’s history and culture by supporting projects that identify, survey, collect, arrange, describe, and make available records that relate to groups and topics traditionally under-represented in the State’s historical record.

For detailed information about DHP Grants, visit the DHP Grant Guidelines and Resources and our Frequently Asked Questions. For assistance with the application or additional information, contact us at DHS@nysed.gov or 518-474-6926.

Prequalification requirement for all grant applicants
New York State has implemented a statewide prequalification requirement for not-for-profit organizations applying for grants. In order to be eligible to apply, all grant applicants (including DHP grant applicants) are required to prequalify using the Statewide Financial System (SFS). Effective January 16, 2024, the SFS prequalification process replaces the former process through New York State Grants Gateway. The SFS prequalification registration process requests information about an organization’s capacity, legal compliance, and integrity. This process may take up to a few weeks to complete. Begin the prequalification registration process immediately if you are considering applying for a DHP Grant.

Learn more about additional funding opportunities from the New York State Archives and the New York State Library, along with free support services and technical assistance for collecting institutions from Documentary Heritage & Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY).
